Mini Bots - they are cool and teach coding at the same time!!

I love it when I find new tech that is cool AND teaches engineering basics!  This little pearl comes courtesy of John Umekubo, one of the most amazing maker space educators from InTELA (www.intela.org) my favorite PLN (Personal Learning Network).

Check it out...  THE RINGO:  The below video says it all!!

Yes, for real, these things are great!! - and anyone who teaches engineering in schools, already knows the power of Arduino (CIJE has three different programs based on the Arduino platform).

I can only begin to imagine the curriculum that I can build using this little device!  I can see it being used from about grade 4 (with its built in behaviors) and up.

What do you think?  Please let me know by commenting on the blogpage.

Yossie

  2. Yossie,
This really does look incredible. Have you started using them at all? Are they as cool as they look? Seriously thinking of a set of these for my school and maybe even my first and second grade nephews.

    1. Hi Bob! John actually has two of them and is going to set up demo in January. Give him an email through InTELA! PlumbGeek has a NEW bot out - The Spirit Rover! This unit is amazing. If you liked Ringo, you MUST check this one out... http://www.plumgeek.com/spirit.html It has full field visual recognition!
