iOS 8.0 and AirPlay

Many of my schools are using the Apple iPad/Phone operating system called iOS.  One of the very neat features of iOS is the "AirPlay" that allows a Mac or iPad/Phone to live stream it's screen to an AppleTV.  Really cool - when it works!!

The problem is that in order to make this feature work on a school network, it can take some real magic! (No details... just take my word for it!)

Well, at the beginning of the week, Apple announced iOS 8!  (Yes, another upgrade to the iPad to make us all nuts!!!)

A cool upgrade to iOS 8 and the Apple TV is that YOU NO LONGER NEED TO USE WIFI TO ATTACH AN iPhone/Pad MAC, etc. TO AN APPLE TV!!

One is supposed to be able to walk into the classroom and using Bluetooth, connect directly to the Apple TV.  IF IT WORKS, this is great news - no more fancy connections that sometimes don't work.  Experience tells me, at least for now, don't give up your direct connect HDMI cable!!

As always, your comments are solicited (PLEASE PUT THEM ON THE BLOG - DON'T JUST EMAIL ME! Everybody should benefit from your comments!)

Regards....

Yossie
